FAQ
Q1. How to choose carbon steel/stainless steel welding rods?
A: Check the base material compatibility:
ER705-6: General-purpose structural steel/pipe steel (AWS A5.18 certified)
308L: 304/304L stainless steel (ultra-low carbon, resistant to intergranular corrosion)
316L: 316/316L stainless steel (marine-grade corrosion resistance, PED certified)
Q2. Why must ER705-6 be used with pure argon gas?
A: Mixing with other gases can cause:
Weld oxidation (copper coating anti-corrosion failure)
Increased spatter (poor carbon steel melt pool stability)

Q3. What happens when 316L welding wire is used to weld 304 stainless steel?
A: Feasible but not optimal:
Advantages: Improved corrosion resistance (molybdenum element addition)
Disadvantages: Cost increase of 30%+ (using 308L specifically for 304 is more economical)
